Terms of use
Last updated 10 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Sprout and About Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17486104), for using Sprout & About on the web, on iPhone and on Android. By using the app you agree to them. If something here is unclear, write to info@sprout-and-about.com.
The app
Sprout & About helps a household plan meals for its children and grown-ups, keep a record of the foods a child has tried, and find things to do. It is for grown-ups. A household is shared by the grown-ups in it, and what one of them adds, the others can see and change.
Ideas, not advice
Some of what the app shows is written by a computer model from what you have told it: recipe ideas, meal plans and days out. Read every idea before you cook it. Check the ingredients against your children’s allergies yourself, every time. The app is not medical or nutritional advice, and it does not replace your health visitor, GP or a doctor.
Days out and classes come from open data and from the places themselves. Times, prices and whether something is on can change, so check with the place before you go.
The plans
Kids eat free is free. The Family plan and the Grown-ups plan are subscriptions, bought in the app through the App Store or Google Play. The store takes the payment, under its own terms, and the price is the one the store shows you before you buy.
A subscription renews automatically, each month or each year, at the price shown, until you cancel it. You can cancel any time in the App Store or Google Play, from your account’s subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before it renews and you will not be charged again. The plan stays until the end of the period you have paid for.
The free period of 14 days is offered once per household, whichever plan and whichever grown-up starts it, and only if the store offers it to your account. If you do not cancel before it ends, the subscription starts and the store charges you. We send a reminder two days before.
The plan belongs to the household, so every grown-up in it has it, whoever bought it. One grown-up pays for it, through one store account, and changes or cancels it there. Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, under their rules.
The plans and what each holds are on pricing. If we change a price, the store tells you before the new price applies, and you can cancel first.
Using it fairly
Please use the app for your own household. Do not try to break it, copy it, read it with automated tools, or use it to send anything unlawful. If someone does, we may close their account.
Your account
You can leave whenever you like. How to delete your account and household, and what is deleted, is on Delete your account. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription: cancel it in the store too. What we hold about you is in the privacy policy.
If something goes wrong
We work hard to keep the app running and right, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of mistakes. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have by law as a consumer.
Changes
If these terms change we will update the date at the top, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
The law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live elsewhere in the UK or in the EU, you keep the protections your own country’s law gives you.
